Two Trailers for the Week: The Master and Anchorman: The Legend Continues

by Jim Kopetz

Two vastly different trailers debuted this week but each is equally exciting. Paul Thomas Anderson's "The Master" and an introduction to "Anchorman: The Legend Continues", declaring it is happening and the entire news team is up to the challenge.

First off, "The Master":

My second most anticipated movie of the year following Tarantino's "Django Unchained". After "I'm Still Here", it's great to see Joaquin Phoenix baring his soul and showing his true talent as only P.T. Anderson can inspire. The close-ups are haunting and you can tell that Phoenix is back on track to becoming one of the great actors of our time. No sign of Phillip Seymour Hoffman as an L. Ron Hubbard avatar, but the longer the build-up the better the pay-off.

It's happening and I can't wait. "Anchorman" is a contemporary classic that will stand the test of time. There has been rumors of the sequel taking place in space, as well as an inclination to make the movie a musical. Whatever Adam McKay and Will Ferrell choose to do I stand by them. I love "Anchorman", "Step-Brothers", and "The Other Guys". Their trust has been proven.
